
Dr Angus Young
Biography
Angus has taught at several universities in Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand. In addition, was an Adjunct Professor at one of Mainland’s top law schools. Concurrently, he is Research Fellow, Centre for Corporate Governance and Financial Policy, Hong Kong Baptist University; Distinguished Research Fellow at the German-Sino Institute of Legal Studies, Nanjing University; Institutional Markets Industry Council Member at FINSIA; National Advisory Council Member and Education Officer of the Greater Bay Area and China at the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (UK), and Publication Sub-committee Member at the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers. Furthermore, Editorial Advisor for Ninehills Media Ltd, Editorial Board Member of the International Corporate Rescue and Editorial Board Member as well as Country Correspondent (Hong Kong) for the International Company and Commercial Law Review.
His research and teaching interests are in governance, risk and compliance as well as financial regulations and crimes. Further, his contributions to the field of compliance and the profession had been recognized by the GRC Institute in Australia including the Honorary Fellow Award, a joint recipient for the Brian Sharpe Memorial Essay Award in 2014, and Honorary Mention for Honorary Fellow Award in 2009.
He has a multi-disciplinary academic background with 7 undergraduate and postgraduate degrees (including a PhD) in Law, Economics, Politics and Criminology. As well, completed 5 executive education courses in FinTech, Digital Transformation, Circular Economy, Leadership and Blockchain. Angus is Fellow of FINSIA, Fellow of Advance HE, Fellow of CPA (Aust.), Member of GRC Institute (Cert. Compliance & Risk Prof.), Member of CISI and Associate of CIArb.
