Biography
Principal Lecturer Vandana Rajwani BA is a practising barrister in Hong Kong who has joined the Law Faculty this academic year. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales and admitted to the Bar in Hong Kong. Her practice encompasses appellate work, judicial review, matrimonial and criminal law. Her areas of interest include human rights, women and the law, equal opportunities and anti-discrimination law. In 2001-2, she will be the course coordinator of the Criminal Advocacy Course and be a team member responsible for redesigning the PCLL curriculum. She is currently undertaking a LLM programme in Human Rights. In 2001-2, she will be the course coordinator for both the Criminal and Civil Advocacy Course.

Vandana Rajwani is a practising barrister in Hong Kong. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales and admitted to the Bar in Hong Kong. Her practice encompasses criminal law, appellate work, judicial review and matrimonial work. Her areas of interest include human rights, women and the law, equal opportunities and anti-discrimination law. Ms. Rajwani obtained her LLM (Human Rights) in 2002. She is a Teaching Consultant with Department of Professional Legal Education, where she teaches Civil, Criminal and Trial Advocacy, Professional Practice and Criminal Procedure.
Ms. Rajwani is involved in the redesign and ongoing reform of the PCLL and was responsible for the re-introduction of training in Trial Advocacy on the PCLL programme. She has been trained in the teaching of trial advocacy by The Middle Temple (UK); The National Institute for Trial Advocacy (USA) and the Australian Advocacy Institute.
Ms. Rajwani also teaches on the Professional Legal Education and Training Course at the University of Queensland, Australia and is a part-time teacher for HKU SPACE on the London University LLB; CPE and the Diploma in Legal Studies Revision Courses.
She has coached the University of Hong Kong’s teams in the Williem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot held in Vienna and Hong Kong 2005, 2006 and the International Client Counseling Competition held in Hawaii 2005, and Wales in 2006.
Ms. Rajwani was awarded a commendation by the Secretary for Home Affairs in 2005 for her dedicated service and outstanding contribution to ethnic minorities.
